As the Women in Migration Network marks the UN International Day of Care and Support on 29 October, we call attention to the globalized and racialized international division of care work.
Ahead of the Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD), FES is hosting a virtual seminar on Gender Matters in Migration.
Moderated by our Advocacy Lead, Paola Cyment, this trans-regional dialogue brings together expert voices from across the world.

The dialogue provided a space to share resistance strategies at the intersection of climate change, gender, and migration. It was organised in collaboration with Amka Africa Justice Initiative, Domestic Workers Advocacy Network, Green Africa Youth Organization (GAYO), and Lighthouse Partnerships.
In May 2025, WIMN’s fourth and final cross-sectoral dialogue focused on the Mathare settlement in Nairobi, where women have faced displacement and lost their livelihoods. Women have led the resistance to the impacts of climate change, including severe floods.

On #WorldRefugeeDay, we affirm a simple yet vital principle: seeking asylum is a right, not a privilege. Detaining, deporting, or denying entry to people fleeing danger violates that right. Solidarity means action—care, commitment, and courage.
