Looking at some loads for flights today, and majority of the long haul flights from Manchester are going out completely full today. Irrespective of whether it’s the summer holidays, the fact flights to routes like Orlando are full to the brim means high costs in the USA isn’t an issue for some….

Vueling will operate Barcelona-Manchester 9 weekly this winter, up from 7 weekly of previous winters. 2 flights operate on Friday and Sunday.

Emirates will not be adding its 4th daily flight to Manchester this winter, due to its lounge in terminal 2 being significantly delayed (EK issue versus a MAG one).
It’s expected they will begin the 4th flight in time for the S26 season instead.
It’s a slot that didn’t cancel down on FR24
Don’t forget. Manchester has this beauty coming in tomorrow. Possibly the first time ever JAL have touched down at MAN (may be wrong but can’t remember a previous visit).

PIA have put 4 weekly flights on its website for Manchester-Islamabad starting August 16th.
Lahore will eventually follow in Sept and Islamabad will increase to daily once more aircraft allow.
Air Blue also expected to start a 3 weekly Islamabad-Ordu-Manchester from Sept 1st, on sale soon.

The ban on Pakistan carriers serving the UK has reportedly been lifted. I expect Manchester to gain 2 returning carriers within the next few days/weeks at most.
Is Manchester about to have another eastern link ticked off tomorrow?….

Air Help have released its ‘best airports’ list.
It’s worth noting Air Help are a compensation company, so most if not all people dealing with it are going to be ‘unhappy’ at a delay, so should be no wonder that it skews the results for the ‘rest of the experience’.

Luxair will increase its Luxembourg-Manchester flight from 2 to 4 weekly from 2nd April 2026.
Flights will operate Monday/Thursday/Friday/Sunday and are bookable now.

It appears Norse are about to have even more Manchester presence, on behalf of another operator.
So now that’s 5 routes using a Norse aircraft for 4 different operators including Norse themselves.
I know I posed a question of ‘should I return to X’ the other day, but after seeing:
‘@grok is this true?’
after almost any flipping question on that app, makes me think ‘nah Im good thanks’.
It’s insufferable!
In terms of what has been requested by the airlines and Air India’s own position, I’d say anything from them this winter (the subject of this post), is unlikely

It’s not perfect, but given it’s taken Thai Airways 34 years to still not come to a decision on MAN, it’s forced the airport to take whatever it can get. And if that’s Norse 1 weekly, then so be it. Can’t be looking a gift horse in the mouth. This is just the start. It could expand.

After many years, one of Manchesters biggest route wishlist destinations will be crossed off this December:

So, I know this (and my insta) account has been quiet for a while now.
Some of that is down to a lack of newsworthy items to post, but part of it is also wondering how to progress in a very crowded market for routes news. There are so many accounts posting news now that there is….
It’s very interesting and it’s also been redacted to now say ‘discussions with Thai Airways’. I think someone let the cat out of the bag too early and were asked to redact.
