I mostly liked it, but my enjoyment was based largely on Dreyfuss and DeVito, who I’m a sucker for. I can’t really call it β€œdated” (it’s a period piece) but I doubt anyone my age would ever call it a fave. I tend to find Barry Levinson’s movies fairly forgettable, and TIN MEN’s no different.

Hang out horror is Peter Bogdanovich’s TARGETS. I think you’d dig that one, especially if you’re a ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD fan.

I always go back and forth on JAWS being a horror film or a thriller film. But if it *is* horror, it’s also my No. 1. That said, I fucking love THE TINGLER. Your episode of @schlockandawe1.bsky.social helped introduce me to it (and William Castle in general).

It was my first watch in several years, and I’m still mixed on the film overall, although it’s so insane and unique I think it begs to be seen. Wish QT got to make it himself.

It’s been a *really* long time since I’ve seen this (I’m genuinely not the biggest Stone guy) but a close friend suggested I give this another shot. So it’s like watching it for the first time all over again.

Underrated animated film! No one brings this up anymore in lieu of the 2020s geek-laden animation we’ve gotten this whole decade, but LEGO BATMAN is truly an antecedent of all of it.

I’d really like to see Coogler do this, but my true dream is for Coogler to adapt an Easy Rawlins noir. Especially since SINNERS is a baby of DEVIL IN A BLUE DRESS.
