I've recently read about studies showing underdeveloped frontal lobes (the part of the brain associated with empathy and critical thinking) among rightwingers, who instead rely on their amygdala (associated with fear and intolerance for the unknown).

Trans people are valid. Trans kids need support and care.

Bigotry is 80s movie bullying. It’s baseless cowardice, trumped up and weaponized to deprive marginalized people of the basic rights and respect they are entitled to simply by existing.

The bigot is a coward. A self-deluding misanthrope who wonders why his life sucks.

The bigot believes he is better than the marginalized because of their inherent traits, be they how they look, what they believe, how they speak, who they love, anything that he can latch onto to convince himself he is superior to them.

But he isn’t. He’s the one who debases and demeans himself.

Bigotry is the lowest, most ridiculous human failing, and it is positively laughable when people evince it in this, the year of the common era 2026.

Like… we know better. We KNOW all people are just people and should be equal.
