There's a hubris I've seen over and over again, over decades, in some young tech professionals, particularly those who are good at coding. It's like mastery of a single niche aspect of STEM confers laurels of wisdom in all things, and the self perpetuating insular bubble they thrive in doesn't help.

One of those facts about UBI that should be obvious to anyone who gives it any real thought is how significantly it will reduce domestic abuse. In Kenya, unconditional basic income cut domestic abuse in half. In Canada's Dauphin pilot, it dropped by about a third. Everyone needs the power to say NO.
