I met my goal of 100k words for my WIP last night! It's not finished, but it's very close and I'm excited to start the editing process (which will involve me fixing *a lot* of inconsistencies lmao).

AI will NEVER replicate the human experience that authors are able to put into books. ESPECIALLY IN ROMANCE
So no, the greatest love story will not be written by a machine.
Writing a book isn't about competition, it isn't about winning or getting rich, it's about sitting down with your fucked-up thoughts and weird ideas and putting them on paper to traumatize people who read them. AI will never get that part right.

It is 100%, but I think it's also a symptom of the terminal cancer that is capitalism at this point. The idea of making as much money as you can as fast as you can with as little effort as you can has ruined us.
I tried. I spent twenty minutes on a phone call talking about all the ways gen AI is unethical.
The more people like this pour their barely legible slop out into the world, the more heartfelt legitimate works stand out, imo.
If I was in it for money, I wouldn't be a writer in the first place.
