However, Lightning can be far more colorful.

If you are the right distance, about 20-40 miles away roughly, and have very clear air and a VERY intense storm...The various particles and conditions within the storm produces flashes in every color imaginable.

There's much more I could add into this thread, from the different types of lightning, to Sprites and Jets, even more mysterious things like Ball Lightning. But maybe that'll be some other time.
