Any #Mariners fans out there interested in testing Playback, which bills itself as a "Twitch for sports."
I'm going to experiment with this for Wednesday's matinee vs. Detroit.

Imagined the complete and total fit John Clayton would have thrown over today's Twitter outages is enough to bring a smile and the hint of a tear.
That man had NO patience for technical difficulties on a day as monumental as the NFL's legal tampering period.
Thanks, Marley!
I'm more than seven years sober now, and I find myself pulling for Sark. I wrote about that in bi-weekly column for The News Tribune:
www.thenewstribune.com/sports/artic...
I was about six months sober at that point, but I had kept this quiet. Many of my good friends didn't know. I hadn't planned on talking about any of this that day, but I wound up doing so.
It turned out to be a really important step for me. I felt more certain about my sobriety after that.
My perspective on Steve Sarkisian changed dramatically not because he quit drinking, but because I did.
Back in 2017 when I was still a talk-radio host, we were discussing Sark -- the former UW coach -- who was rebuilding his career after drinking had led USC to fire him three years earlier.
We came back to the house with 40βs and blunts and the (stuff) just went off.
Two of my college roommates sent them to me as a birthday present. One of those dudes I kept up after buying βWu-Tang Foreverβ double disc at midnight the day it came out.
I remain someone who sees the cup as half full.
The Seattle #Mariners have made the playoffs five times.
Coincidentally, five is also the number of ruptured testicles their players have suffered in the franchiseβs 47 years of existence.
I donβt know about you, but I think like the man behind the register.
After walking through the tunnel, entering the stands, a Penn State fan on the aisle, turned and said βWelcome to Happy Valley.β
Guy in front of me turned around, βThey donβt do that at Eagle games.β
Went to State College for the first time last week ..
Just incredible.

For the second time in 30 years, there is a top-level NCAA quarterback who shares my name.
This time, I can buy a T-shirt with our name on it!

Seeing the toads in charge of Sports Illustrated working to strip mine that great publication is one of the more depressing and dispiriting things I've seen in sports media and that's saying something. dannyoneil.substack.com/p/a-deep-sig...
For years I heard tech people scoff at how badly media businesses had mismanaged the transition to a digital future.
If nothing else, Elon Musk has shown that tech folks might be even worse at it.
I'm sorry you and the staff have to deal with this. I have a deep admiration and respect for Sports Illustrated and a number of friends and writers I admire who work there. The fact that the people currently in charge are doing things like this is a travesty.
The decision to write about my family felt like a turning point in my life. Turns out that it was just the first step: dannyoneil.substack.com/p/there-must... #memoir #writinglife
The only problem I have talking about my mental is finding the right verb. Saying, "I have depression" or "I am depressed" fails to capture the reality of what is more like a tendency that I must be aware of.

I am a sucker for hokey names. Or in those case: Hokie Poke.
