I am not sure I agree. The problem with any echo chamber is that it distorts people's perception of the popularity of their views, which makes too many of them complacent and unwilling do what is necessary. I think we all need to be exposed to what it is we are opposed to to keep the fire stoked.

I just don't see how any social media platform could survive and thrive without doing the same thing BS is doing and by taking that money and going public, which would lead to the same outcome.

OK, but just thinking out loud here, would that not also be the eventual fate of any platform you migrate to? I can't imagine it would be feasible to keep hopping around, especially not for artists and other creators who need a steady follower base to sustain themselves.
