This week's blog post, "Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend", is now available. And, no, they don't need to be the sparkly variety.

2/2 They are both amazing techniques that use more than one colour of yarn to create wonderful visual effects, but in very different ways!
Book directly with Ewe Felty Thing if you’d like to join me on April 4th to add either of these techniques to your skill set - tea and cake are also included!
My first two workshops at Ewe Felty Thing in Conwy are on April 4th - that’s in just under four weeks!
I’m looking forward to introducing knitters to some new techniques: stranded colourwork knitting and two-colour brioche knitting. 1/2
This time next week we’ll be getting ready to welcome visitors to TexStyle at Manchester Central.
We are on stand H6 - in the middle of the hall. There will be a lovely range of 50 different hand knitting designs on display with printed patterns available for all of them.
Come & say hello!
The lace patterns in Lorelai Wrap are fun & funky (circles anyone?), but the overall construction is simple.
Worked in 1 piece with a constant stitch count (91 sts). There are no joins or stitches to pick up & you can use circular or straight 4.5mm needles.
Available now as an individual pattern.
Lorelai Wrap is now online! You can find it on my website, Payhip & Ravelry.
Originally published in issue 218 of The Knitter, it is worked in 1 piece, the pattern is both charted & fully written.
The yarn is Jamiesons of Shetland Ultra Lace which is beautiful & lofty, worked on 4.5mm needles.
There will always be an element of Thing 3 inside me, and this t-shirt and wig remind me of the joy of dressing up for World Book Day. Today I am feeling grateful for all the people I've shared World Book Days with over the years, and for everyone who has helped me bring my books into the world.
I reached out to Kath to tech edit my first jumper pattern and I’m very glad I did. The jumper is graded for 10 sizes and Kath painstakingly reviewed every number helping me to find errors and ensure consistency. In addition she utilised her extensive designing experience to bring suggestions for readability and knitability leaving me a lot more confident about bringing this first jumper pattern out to the public. Kath was great about price and time estimations up front and keeping me informed along the way and in my view the service was definitely money well spent.
Did you know I’m a certified technical editor for knitting patterns? I competed my course last November having trained with Carol from Cool Wool School.
The pic shows my first testimonial from a client.
If you need a tech editor for your knitting patterns please do get in touch!
This week's blog post, "Let's Go Round Again", is now available. Have a read and see what I'm (re)knitting!

Lorelai Wrap is now available as a single pattern pdf download!
You can find it on my website and in my Payhip and Ravelry stores.
Worked in one piece using Jamiesons of Shetland Ultra Lace on 4.5mm needles it is light, airy and elegant.
I have finally blocked my 4ply version of What Do Points Make?! It’s a little bigger than the laceweight version but not much (147.5 x 114cm instead of 130 x 108cm). Made on the same size needles as the laceweight version (4.5mm).
Looking forward to the weather warming up so I can wear it!
Thanks!
2/2 The pattern has 4 sizes & all use less than 100g of DK. There are some cool techniques such as a pinwheel cast on & closed ring cables as we liked our mkals to give knitters something they might not have tried before.

Am Byth was the mystery knitalong for 2023 with Yarn O’clock.
As with most of our mkals we didn’t even tell folk what they would be making & the 1st clue didn’t help a lot as we began in the centre of the crown!

Into the Vortex was the 2021 MKAL with Yarn O’clock. The original used RiverKnits Chimera & Nene 4ply yarns on 4.5mm needles (bottom right on 2nd pic). I think it’s also working up really nicely on RiverKnits DK Chimera & WYSpinners Fleece on 5.5mm needles.

Ice Diamond Mitts were originally designed following a request from Anne at @yarnoclock2 to create a pattern using a worsted weight roving yarn.
They are long mitts which extend past the wrist keeping you cosy despite the lacy design.
