I have to strongly disagree with you here.

Every EV event I have been to the last 4 years, early adapter have said no more Tesla due to Elon. Always with the statment, I love the cars, but can not support that.

Also, Teslas are still better unless you’re in China. Yes others are catching up

Why do gasoline driver always judge an EV road trip by how similar of a trip it is to a gas car?

With EV, the days of rushing into the gas stall, pumping, running inside to use bathroom while rounding up the kids to leave right away is over. EV stops are calm. You get where you’re going happier.

It is true actually. EVs also reduce a lot of greenhouse gasses over their lifespan, which is a good thing. Elon sucks, but EVs are the future and required to slow greenhouse emissions.

Yeah, his comment is a little poor in argument. As someone who has driven most EVs, Tesla makes one of if not the best EVs depending on your taste.
I get not wanting to spend money on one today, but holding onto your older one you bought before.

It's not a bad idea to go to the local Walmart or big box retailer and buy lots of consumables now. From toothpaste to soap, anything you can find storage space for, buy before they have to replenish inventory.
