tbh i havent really listened to much of it but from what ive heard already i do agree. i think its impossible for the ghoul to influence the music which is good we have to get rid of the ghoul
sonic runners is interesting because people seem to remember it fondly for some reason when it is in no way better or more moral than whatever current exploitative sonic mobile games are out currently. i guess maybe it had to do with a lot of heart being put into the art direction and soundtrack....

if sonic forces got one thing right it was making sure you know the antagonist is serious by making their vocal theme a linkin park song. i sound like im joking but im not they should do this all the time
think like labyrinth zone from sonic 1. labyrinth isnt a bad level because its a water level its bad because its a massive random difficulty spike but people treat it and all other water levels like it like the antichrist when all water levels are are interesting challenges
one of the most annoying things in games criticism is when someone confuses a games difficulty for a fault. it should be more about how the difficulty is applied than anything i think. you can also just not like hard games thats fine but they also arent inherently at fault for being hard
yoshis woolly world has this effect on me i feel im really never the same kim i was before i started a session once im done. yoshi teaches me to relax... to take things slow... to eat watermelons and shoot the seeds out of my mouth like a machine gun... i really want watermelon... fuck... ugh...
ive been playing lots of yoshis woolly world lately and that game has lots of collectables to keep track of per level and if you miss one it tells you sort of like how red rings work in modern sonic games. it was greatly liberating to realize that i could just....... turn around...... this is sad...
i think sonic has kinda rotted my brain when it comes to how i play platformers. i see that i missed a collectable of some sort halfway through a level and my sonic brain tells me that i can just get it on a replay and that i need to keep moving when nothing is preventing me from just turning around

i like at the end of sa2 when tails kinda fails to take in the scope of eggmans feelings and he kinda just defaults to childish optimism & thats fine bc thats all they needed to hear. eggman just kind of backs off and accepts that naive optimism as an answer for now and i think thats really sweet
something i wish was seen more when talking about tails and eggman as rivals is their difference in maturity. people often reduce tails as a foil to eggman as just "technology can be used for good, too" when its much more about the worldview behind the technology. tails's naivety is his strength....
