Ostentatiously clearing throat: I was always more of a Frank Kermode guy myself.

Fog so thick you can barely see the water treatment plant across the yacht marina from Navy Pier
Proof every day that evil is also pathetic
Wonderful, thanks
Few things I've ever believed in more, with all my being, than Macondo.
Still think some of the Pumpkins' best music is on Adore, when Corgan himself sidelined his own rock music.
Feel so much the same way.

Are the Four Quartets the Eliot everybody returns to the most as they age, or is it just me?
Who's on the panel?
A bust shot of Dale Cooper from Twin Peaks, melting from both ends as though in a lava lamp. He is holding a small coffee cup that is melting upwards. His eyes are completely blank white circles, also melting.
A bust shot of Laura Palmer from Twin Peaks, melting from both ends as though in a lava lamp. Her eyes are completely blank white circles, also melting. She is holding up both hands in front of her and off to the side. They are disembodied and also melting.
well, since I've never posted these on Bsky, here's a Laura Palmer and a Dale Cooper that I was commissioned to do a couple of years ago, i hope they will serve as a tributeππ
"Read me but I won't read you" is apparently a thing now. And here I thought all these years I needed the anxiety of influence, the grappling with the gods of creation, to write anything worthy of readers.
I have standards for tomato paste, and I love it in many applications, but I'm saying gochujang has a more complex thing going on imo
I hear this. It's like if tomato paste had a cool personality, but still you shouldn't overextend it.
Nighttime scene on a wet sidewalk in a delicious City, facing the storefront of a Vegan Deli store; the lights are so bright and colorful, along with added string lights outside, where there are (wet) tables and chairs; it did not rain hard, but long enough where everything is wet; at one side of the Vegan Deli is a barber shop and the other, a wine and spirits shop; the deli storefront has two national flags of the country in which it is located; all over the storefront, they have photos advertising all of their specialties - the most popular being the Vegan Chopped Cheese, made with the Beyond Meat; they also have meat dishes, but there are two separate grills so the Vegan food never comes in contact; this is a small business and the operators are very kind; they also have an ATM and Red Bull - really one of the better soft drink selections of a bodega or deli its size; above the deli, the windows of second-floor apartments still have the lights on because it really is not that late.
New York photo of the day.

Where there's a will, there's a Janeway.
I can understand that
Peanut butter cup will not go gentle into that good night.
The Ash Wednesday procession through the Chicago suburb of Melrose Park from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church - honoring immigrants, immigration detainees and those killed by ICE & Border Patrol - has begun.
Chicago Archbishop and Cardinal Blase Cupich is near the head of the march.
Just strike theory
Fennel really is the classiest-smelling allium vegetable.
This is real for me. I vividly remember beating A Link to the Past, followed decades later by Breath of the Wild. The latter I'd even call life-changing screen time.
Thanks again
Oh yeah, agreed!
Oh wonderful. Now I think I might try that combination. Many thanks.
The 3D bonus level runs were so exhilarating for me back when.
Hand-crumbled tofu tossed with smoked paprika and potato starch and tossed in olive oil with some veg and roasted at 425 for a half hour. Comes out crispy and looking fried. While roasting, simmer some sliced garlic and shallots in 2 tbsps olive oil and dump over it when it comes out of the oven.
Any love for Richard Holmes's Coleridge bio? Full of wild ideas and pathos.
Let alone those of us who have work containing our whole lives, our ideas and struggles and passions, as we implore the void with all our will till someone, maybe, hears the faint echo and takes it up.
Feel the same way about oystercatchers, though I'm pretty sure oysters are not their only food
