My mom had a very mild case of polio as a child. I have friends not much older than me who are seriously disabled from polio: they missed getting the polio vaccines by just a few years and are both enraged and astounded that anyone would pass on vaccinating their children.
And VERY anecdotally you see this with the measles outbreaks. When they get big enough parents start vaccinating.
Kids shouldn't have to get sick for this to happen
The thing that I don't think they've fully grasped is because we've had two nearly three generations of adults who have been vaccinated, people are going to realize pretty quickly shit is bad when suddenly their kids are dying.
