It wasn't "cancel culture" when women and people of color got used up, silenced, and dismissed before their careers even began. It only became "cancel culture" when powerful abusers started having established careers momentarily inconvenienced by revelations of what they'd done.

Say what you will but Ryan Murphy sure has his finger on some kind of pulse. Gen Z loves neutral clothing like nobody’s business, so of course they’re eating up his love letter to CBK. At least he is showing them how good hard pants, actual shoes, and well-fitting shirts with buttons can look.

Frida Kahlo is a famous disabled artist. Her art explores her disability. When she had the accident that disabled her, she painted from her bed in her casts. Many artists in history have been disabled. Many are now. You will not find them fighting to have AI take their creative process from them.

It must be nice to be a sociopath, because all the new products are for you. The smart glasses will give you that woman’s address, the betting apps will finally let you make bank on war crimes.

A multicolored longhaired tabby cat sits in peaceful repose on a blanket on a lap. he shows no signs of guilt or even awareness that he (accidentally) landed his doting human in urgent care.

I have a lot of experience with illness. Plenty of surgery (more than a dozen with another slated for next month). But injury? Getting hurt out of the blue? I’ve never had a cast or non surgical stitches. That is, until I TRIPPED ON MY CAT YESTERDAY. My first black eye! My first unforeseen sutures!

Is “birthday blindness” a thing? I can love love love a person (and show it) but hell if I know when their birthday is. It feels very important to some people. I also don’t care about my own birthday. Is this residue from my upbringing (birthdays: everyone’s got em. no one deserves a fuss) or what.

I am far away in sunny Arizona but from here it kinda looks like some people don’t know what to do with a young, capable, affable mayor who not only fulfills the responsibilities of his office but…. kinda really enjoys it?

Elizabeth Warren: "This one is to me not even open or arguable. How would the US government keep money that the Supreme Court said it did not legally collect from American businesses, that it did not legally take away from American families that ultimately paid this?"

The Epstein files document what many women researchers have long experienced but rarely seen laid bare so starkly: exclusion operating behind closed doors, shaping who gets funded, invited, mentored, and taken seriously. How many of these networks, norms, and gatekeepers remain in place?

Thinking back to when I went to this event at ASU. As a student, I got the tickets for free. My doctoral cohort went together. I thought, how wonderful to hear from such luminaries. What a privilege!

Chomsky, Krauss, they are both Epstein dirtbags.

Yesterday I saw some influencer sharing 10 fashion choices that undercut women’s leadership in the workplace and I don’t exactly disagree but Elizabeth Warren is calling out DJT on my TV right now in a crewneck knit and a cardigan/blazer (blardigan?) in an apologetic length and it turns out IDGAF

I saw a Next Door post (about “bad bunnies” halftime show) that started with “I’m not crazy with the crotch-grabbing” followed by “So shake your booty!” Ah, wait, I see the poster has deftly addressed the inconsistency: “dance a bit like no one’s watching,” advises Nancy G, taking liberties

On the right is an image of a woman wearing a silk blouse festooned with pictures of bright red and green and yellow fruit, a tan and white striped waistcoat, wide leg khaki pants with exposed French seams, white ankle booties, and red glasses. She holds a white bag with a yellow scarf tied on its handle.
