Hey stop posting your picks up
Thanks to all for your patience as we worked out the details and execution - we've updated how we're going to do purchases of Riftbound product on the official Riot Merch store! Details here - riftbound.leagueoflegends.com/en-us/news/a...
For once, I am ahead of the curve
With #RBSpiritforged preview season going, Iโm happy my preview card is a Yordle that allows you to play with your trash. ๐๏ธ
Thanks Riftbound for the preview!
Power Nexus - When you hold here, you may pay AAAA to score 1 point.
Fun things to do with today's #Riftbound Spiritforged preview card:
- go all in for the last point
- convert a pile of gold into victory
- delete your runes to assert dominance
- announce loudly that "I am paying AAAA!" like you just saw a spider.
Riftbound is here and we sat down to Shuffle Up & Play against @scarraa.bsky.social!
Can CovertGoBlue and @amytheamazonian.bsky.social team up with Prof to take down the very legend of leagues himself at @riftbound.riotgames.com?

Baby Steps review roundup: 'Is it possible to love and hate a game at the same time?' (The answer, clearly, is yes) News By Andy Chalk published 2 hours ago The new Bennett Foddy-style flailing simulator is "infuriating," "frustrating," "stupid," and most people seem to love it.
One of today's philosophical questions: can a game be a "Bennett-Foddy-style" game if it is actually made by @foddy.net
This method has some pluses and minuses, but always remember that the pluses apply first.
Hey friends - we've put together a Core Rules FAQ that hopefully answers both commonly asked questions about game and also addresses many of the more intricate/complex situations folks have been confused by or asked about. @riftbound.riotgames.com
How much guts do I need before I can start earning glory
I feel like it's probably TF:
- esoteric use
- resonance so on the nose it's kind of silly
- doesn't fully work with the current cards, so you gotta dream big
I think I need to save info on calling back to older sets until at least set 2!
Swarm has been interesting in Riftbound - there's obviously a lot of advantage to splitting up and going wide, but the cap on points per turn means aggressive decks still have to play at a measured pace.
I definitely want to see Garen again post-Proving Grounds, whenever and however that is!
So for the Elite tag, that actually lead to a lot of discussion about what is an Elite vs. a Demacian, and if we need both (same with Trifarian and Noxus). We only have a couple cards that care about tags in Origins but I'm excited to do more with them in future sets
Ride the Wind is definitely not a card to sleep on. We made it with Yasuo, Windrider in mind but I don't think we realized how close the names were at first. Sometimes things just work out!
Sorry I can't really comment/look at designs, company policy!
We knew going in TF wanted to have some kind of effect keying off drawing or revealing a card from your deck, because of his affinity for cards. We landed on the Domain colors pretty late, and while I can't promise anything specific, we do seed ideas in that may not fully land until the future!
I'm glad to hear it! We spent a lot of time ( especially @gearhook.goblin.horse ) getting Sett to feel bruiser-y and I really like where he ended up
Sure! Sett, Brawler is one of my favorite units, partly because his get buff/spend buff pattern combines well with things like Mistfall to have tremendous solo carry turns. Kingpin can also be an absolute stat monster, but he's less fancy and more of a team player
All the Riftbound Origins cards have been revealed! riftbound.leagueoflegends.com/en-us/tcg-ca...
Reply with a card name and I'll tell you if we have any fun stories from development. I love all the cards in this set and can't wait to see what y'all do with them!
MY RIFTBOUND CARD REVEAL !
14y ago I had a LoL smurf account just for Lee Sin. One of my fav champs. I even got good at ward hopping to help aim the ult.
Cards w accelerate tend to be good. If you can find payoffs from the 2nd ability, the card is awesome !

You can tell [Blue Prince protagonist] Simon Jones is a rich kid, because he might be the only 14 year old in existence who cleans his plate when dinner is wild quail or boiled stew pie, but won't finish a pizza.

I just want to make things that get players excited, man.
Congrats!!!
This is a lot of the story behind set development. We'll usually land on a core idea for a Legend's archetype early on, polish up those elements, and then try to find the role player cards that make the whole composition sing once we know how the deck plays.
In testing, this also meant that the Volibear deck felt very fair - you knew what he was doing, when it was probably happening, and it was up to the other player to make the game interesting.
But Sky Splitter lets Volibear turn a Big Unit into a Big Turn, with a huge jolt of removal tempo!
If you've seen the Volibear demo deck, you know that Voli has a lot of big units, some nice ways to gain runes, and some removal for the early game. But one problem Big Stuff decks often have is that going all in on one angry Bear means you're one removal spell away from turning into a rug.
Back again with another #Riftbound card reveal, straight from the bear's paws to your eyes: Sky Splitter!
When we were architecting the set for Origins, we knew we wanted a rune-ramp deck. Big Stuff is, after all, Very Cool. But Big Units are often hard to make good, so how do we support that plan?
