They both keep letters and notes written to each other as well... quimp also keeps the buttons/sequins/beads that might fall off of janne's clothing to repair later but many of them end up becoming little trinkets that he keeps in his keepsake box

quimp doesn't have anything to give to janne except his years of service and devotion but it's practically a tangible object to him, and janne would have nothing better to remember him by

i know technically the athenaeum's uniform consists of 4/5 of the welkin gear pieces and a different top, but i imagine janne lost his welkin robe in the move back from sharlayan to ishgard. He only has one piece of it left, a pendulum chain he gifts to quimp (he wears it as a necklace)
