I don’t understand why you’re arguing, I literally spoke to people who gave that as the reason.
Whether the reason is valid or not is neither here nor there.

Most people voted for Trump because of their lived experience of the economy. It’s depressing that it outweighed all the awful stuff he’s done, but that’s America - the American dream is literally about getting rich.
What you said was absolute nonsense, politicians get elected based on what they will do with public money.
They take credit for the success of their policies and responsibilities for their failures.

Nobody in 2024 wants to be a racist, so rather than changing their behavior they just convince themselves that their behavior is not racist.
I believe the problem is that they have a definition of ‘racial hatred’ and we have ours.
