The MC who's had the most interaction with plants, among my Seeker protagonists, is probably Sulfur. She is a hunter that specializes in using poison darts, so naturally, she's used to dealing with toxic flora.
The yanba is identified by its flat, square leaves and stocky brown root. It's not the most flavorful by itself, but works well in most stews.

Perhaps one of the most notable crops in Theryl is the yanba: a vegetable that originated in Hol, but has since become quite common in most nations. The reason is simple: the yanba thrives in cold weather where most plants freeze, making it an ideal crop for winter months.
However, there is a certain plant that much coveted by healers the world over, said to only grow in certain regions of Hol and Skogach. It's known by a few names, but perhaps most common is Dreamer's Respite. It is, at present, the only plant known to be able to treat suleptosis...

All manner of medicines exist in Theryl. Its said that, with the plant god's blessing, any ailment or injury can be treated. Healers often ask for his guidance in learning which herbs and reagents to mix in order to yield the best results for a given circumstance.

As established previous, Sancti trees produce a special sap with an intoxicating aroma. This aroma is used by seers to entice the birds of the sun and the moon, Ruxima and Phela, to bestow seers with their feathers. This simple act of reverence earns the deities' favor.

Fungi really aren't something I've actually explored much in Theryl. They exist, though I honestly haven't written up any specific examples... Honestly I'm not sure what deity's domain they'd even fall under. I guess Lespir, god of plants and medicine, even if they aren't plants.
Not a bad policy
Drop something RED
A starry sky over a shadowy forest in a videogame.
The night sky from Octopath Traveler 2.
Then you have Crystalblooms, giant flowers made from crystal, as the name again implies. There is actually some debate as to whether they truly count as more plant or mineral, but their growth is generally a sign of healthy soil, especially since they can grow to be as tall as a person.

One type of flower notable in Theryl is the glowpetal. As the name implies, these buds emit a faint light once they bloom, and they come in a variety of colors. They're native primarily to Pou, but their beauty when planted in groups make them a popular export.
Then there are dorsum trees, primarily native to Pou. They're not too unremarkable, though they're notable for their thin leaves that curve upwards. They mostly exist as a pun, and if you understand what they pun is, you get a cookie.
The first are Sancti trees, which produce a golden sap referred to by some as Divine Dew. Though very sweet-smelling, Divine Dew is not safe for human consumption in large amounts. However, its aroma is said appease the sun and moon birds, and is often offered by seers to gain their feathers.

I've talked about Lespir, the first tree that wound up becoming the god of all plants in Theryl. However, there are a few other unique or interesting trees of note.
Ayyy progress!
"Why are you crying? It's just a kid's movie."
The movie:
Keld and Odd (the protagonist) once shared the same dream: to strike it rich and escape poverty together. Unfortunately, for Keld, the 'together' part was optional...
How I arrived on Bluesky:
Alas, that sort of lavish lifestyle is the sort of thing a lowborn like him can only dream of. Then again, perhaps those dreams can come true if he's willing to put everything on the line for them...
Keld, one of the main antagonists of Bloodseeker, dresses primarily in lightweight armor. As a thief, he likes to have a mix of protection and mobility. He's not above wearing disguises when he needs to, though. If it were up to him, Keld would love to adorn himself in all sorts of fancy attire...
Alright, gonna slowly try to get back into flow of things here after a rough few days. Did I miss anything major?
Ayyy nice! I'll message you tomorrow, been offline most of today.
If you see this, post a knight.
