Not so much a joke as future reality:
Read a book about sermons delivered in a Presbyterian church in Charleston, South Carolina during the Civil War.
I could only weep, astounded by the horror of what the sermons were approving and the rationale behind them.
FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HUMAN, stop using the giant environment destroying rape culture theft machine to create meme shit about fascists and stop flooding the skyline with that bullshit!π€¬

Kristi Noem won't see your posts in celebration of her literally being the last one on the planet to know she was fired, but her neighbors will.
And there's bluesky over the rainbow bridge, so the puppy she shot will see them too.
Hey, if you're feeling like life has passed you by and you're too old to start something new, remember that John Brown was 55 before he killed his first pro-slavery settler in the Kansas Territory. It's never too late to follow your dreams.

Significantly, the effort to starve Cuba into submission has received bipartisan support in Washington, with no effort from Democratic Party leaders to block the strengthened embargo.
To each their own path to utopia.
As for me, think I'll enjoy gamboling around in Paradise with all my cats past and present. :)
Itβs important to believe in equality and dignity of all people and that we all are deserving of housing and healthcare and other basic necessities; whether itβs because you believe weβre created in godβs image or because you believe in inherent value of humanity is immaterial imo
Amen. :) I've also wondered if, at the end of life, Bonhoeffer's musings about a "religionless christianity" weren't touching on this point as he considered the selfless acts of the non christians he worked beside in the Underground.
No argument from me on that point.
Though I'm tongue in cheek with my comment about Stalin - but who knows? Conservatives used to talk of "muscular Christianity" back in the 1950's.
I've always thought communists and socialist revolutionaries were doing applied Christian faith in a way.
I'm a looney, but in my true innermost private self, I believe most questions of life are Theology at it's elemental level.
Stop dismissing the value of Theology in Revolution.
A good seminary education aided Joseph Stalin to make the decision to "follow Jesus" into banking the way Christ did to the money changers.
Admittedly, Stalin also benefited from shotgun and pistol technology in his "mission outreach" work.

Refusal of orders is the litmus test. Everything else is rationalization or deflection of blame.
As a former American Naval Officer who served aboard an aircraft carrier - and - who also reads current news accounts of recent aerial murders of small boats in the Caribbean:
American military officers can rationalize anything - some don't even bother with the rationalization or conscience bits.
Folks be posting images and videos like it's instagram, on here, or something. Add alt text. It ain't that hard. Be inclusive. And even if you don't do it for inclusion, then do it for the selfish reason that your posts get to reach a wider audience. It ain't hard work to add alt text. Do better!
