Hi, just your periodic reminder that, no matter how loud they are about it, REPUBLICANS ARE BAD AT THE ECONOMY.
In every Republican presidency of my lifetime there's been a recession and a new war in the Middle East.
The CEO of Raytheon insisted they have at least one repulsive, abrasive giga-capitalist character very excited about conducting an unsanctioned action and making a bag off it.
The script. Was a lie. THE SCRIPT. WAS A LIE.
THE SCRIPT WAS A LIE. THEY ARE LTING TO YOU AND HAVE BEEN THE WHOLE-ASS ENTIRE TIME.
Boy, wow, if only someone was present who could have warned people that was going to happen...
Grammarly's presentation of something they call Expert Review, including my name (plus Stephen King's, plus Mary Norris's), though to be sure I've never been contacted by Grammarly, much less compensated.
What in the absolute fuck is this.
HARM REDUCTION: Vote YES on the War Powers Resolution β No War on Iran. Write one here: actionnetwork.org/letters/vote...
A part of me really wants to follow Pete Hegseth around calling him "The Templar Phillip IV Forgot to Execute" but I fear he'd take that as a compliment.
Coming of age wonder, and a huge amount of pathos because, well for example New York is a city of 8.5 million people, and also one of the loneliest places I've ever lived in my life.
It's the sort of thing that requires sophisticated storytelling, but I believe in the indie developers as a whole!
I have a thesis about this, but it's only half-baked. The part that I'm fairly confident in is that hip hop started as a form typically more radical, overtly political, more about material conditions and less about feelings or reactions, letting people feel how they feel about those conditions.
I think about this Tony Benn speech much more than I used to
I'm strong, y'all, but I'm tired.
The Republicans seem to be prepping an argument that any domestic terror attacks in the aftermath of their Iran attacks will be the fault of Democrats for shutting down DHS funding, so I'd like to remind everyone of this appointment:
i feel strongly that anyone that thinks that there is a nefarious cabal of surgeons and doctors Transing people should be forced to try and schedule one (1) transsexual procedure
"The goyim are waking up" is very neo-nazi as a phrase. I think Ana's just not very bright and VERY angry, which tends to dull critical thinking. I don't think she's a neo, but I think she's friends with one, heard them say that, felt it encapsulated her rage, and didn't learn a 2nd thing about it.
Sometimes it's used as a joke, i.e., The Goyim are Always Watchingβ’οΈ or "this film is dedicated to all the Yids out there who have had enough of the goyim," but the only people who ever put real hate on it are neos.
Ah, okay, so a little more information to shore up your understanding: Goyim means 'nations,' and carries the nuance of 'not Jewish' under certain circumstances. Despite what antisemites say, it's almost never used unironically as a pejorative, because it sounds racist.
So at least this is internally consistent.
Yeah, but if you're the kind of gentile who uses the term "goyim" as an aggressive conversational element, you're also not likely to be the kind of gentile who has a clear differentiation between Israel and the diaspora. In their minds, to comment on one is to comment on the other.
A section of gay men did it with bi folks and then trans folks, it's not my place to comment but I see Latine folks noticing a similar pattern, our people do it, despite antisemitism being core to white supremacy.
Shaiel is perhaps the ur-example of living long enough to find yourself the shande.
Shaiel has been off his rocker for a minute now, but it also speaks to a tendency I think is prevalent in any minority cultural group, where some think we can go the way of the Irish and Italians by becoming unconditionally part of the majority (in America, white) by publicly aligning with them.
Children are dead, and someone with insider knowledge made a shitload of money off it. Heads need to roll, and my compromise position is that I mean this metaphorically. Prediction markets should be outlawed, decisionmaker interests in them should trigger summary removal

Hi, jsyk, Jesse Singal's """piece""" in the New York Times is an op-ed, not real journalism. Don't let them lie to you.
Do they mean an unrealized gains tax? Because that would be incredibly based.
I love traveling by air. I absolutely *despise* flying. Airline ineptitude, cost cutting, and nickel-and-diming has made this experience positively unbearable.
Just to see. They're confident in themselves, there's no harm in giving it a go!
I think the fatal flaw of his argument is assuming the inevitability of the US becoming Wide Syria. Which may yet happen, and if it does, it'll be for the exact same reasons as Syria: the US (our worst enemy), Turkey, and Israel, with Russia skulking around in the back.
But it's not fait accompli.
*any longer. To avoid this *any longer.
Also, I feel like people who prefer CLIs just really like feeling like technomagicians
I also finally found myself unable to avoid this
This man, and I am confident this is a man, first off he's unsponsored-posting on LinkedIn, which is the most man-coded (derogatory) shit of all time; second off, Elon, we know it's you.
