As an amateur student of song, I found this article compelling. I already sing on of the Weill songs mentioned. Now to more research.

The Librarians | Book Policies Documentary | Independent Lens The Librarians follows librarians and citizens responding to restrictions on library content across the United States.

As a retired public librarian who worked in rural Newfoundland, I applaud these brave warrior librarians. I never faced anything like the mass hysteria that has overtaken the USA, Texas in particular. Is there something in the water? Or - follow the money. Frightening.

Composer Philip Glass withdraws 'Lincoln' symphony from the Kennedy Center In a statement, Glass said, "Symphony No. 15 is a portrait of Abraham Lincoln, and the values of the Kennedy Center today are in direct conflict with the message of the Symphony."

Bravo Philip Glass for speaking truth to power.

Myanmar: Top UN court begins hearings in Rohingya genocide case The Gambia accuses Myanmar's leadership of carrying out "brutal and vicious violations" against the Muslim minority group.

Being halfway through "The Rohingyas: Inside Myanmar's Genocide" by Azeem Ibrahim, intro by Muhammad Yunus (Nobel Peace Prize 2006), it was somewhat hopeful to see this case reach the ICJ although other decisions by its Vice-President Julia Sebutinde do not inspire confidence.
