A friendly reminder to folks that you do not have to surround yourself in the news 24/7. You are allowed to have safe places. You are allowed to not look at things for days at a time. Everyone needs rest. You are not a worse person, or activist, for taking care of yourself.

That’s such a nice message, I’ll definitely have to remember that when observing! The deer not seeing you is hilarious! When I was at my school’s observatory the cows would come watch us, they were always so curious as to what we were doing out there!

That’s such good insight! I appreciate that y’all want the best experience possible for your students as I know a good grad school experience isn’t always a guarantee. I can definitely see the struggle these programs have and I wish it was an easier one to sort out. If only we could have both sides😅

It being based on advisor availability isn’t something I had considered before! A match system would be really interesting. It might also help folks find advisors at schools they wouldn’t have considered!
