Today a jury in Prairieland, TX will decide if the state can imprison people for their beliefs, if the state can criminalize ideas it dislikes, if the state can treat anarchists like terrorists. It's a horrifyingly consequential pivot point in our descent into authoritarianism.

so say you have one language that doesn't have gendered pronouns, and you use machine translation to translate it into english. the sentence "[3rd sg prn] cleaned the house" is likely to be translated with "she" while [3rd sg prn] went to medical school" is likely to be translated with "he" >

Elad Simchayoff on twitter:
I interviewed two Israeli Air Force pilots who are part of the operation in Iran. When I asked what it felt like to enter Iranian airspace for the first time, one of them said:
“You find yourself thinking, what do these people, so far away from us, actually want from us? They have a huge and beautiful country. Right now full of snow and lakes. Truly a very, very beautiful place. What do they want from us, this small piece of land? It’s such a strange feeling.”
A surprising number of Israelis seem to have already forgotten that they're the ones who started the war.

imagine if in half of US states if you were in an accident/got sick and had to go to the hospital
the medical professionals there would FORCE THE WRONG HORMONE INTO YOUR BODY, making it change in ways antithetical to who you are

Donate to Help Youssef and his family in Gaza, organized by Vicky Osterweil
Hi everyone, my name is Vicky, and I'm helping Shymaa Al Masri run this fundraiser… Vicky Osterweil needs your support for Help Youssef and his family in Gaza
No donations for 9 days. Please help Shimaa survive Israel's genocide with her little child & mother, who are starving & ill. She's already lost her husband, & she's unable to post regularly because Bsky deletes her ruthlessly.

Iranian anarchists: "We continue to organise and resist" - Freedom News
Second interview with Anarchist Front on repression and resilience, regional war, and internet shutdowns ~ Gabriel Fonten ~ When you last spoke to …
"Liberation of the people of Iran cannot be imposed by foreign powers. Freedom can only emerge from the struggle of the people themselves, and turning social movements into instruments of state rivalries will ultimately harm society." @freedompress.bsky.social freedomnews.org.uk/2026/03/10/i...

At least in part I think this is because the cost of entry to be seen as “serious” in the US media and politics is a state. The Kurds are so often wrongly painted as acted upon, not acting, because so many people can’t understand actions on a large scale outside the frame of the state.

Chinese text, reading "Revolution begins with yourself. Cracked from the outside, an egg becomes food; cracked from within, it releases new life."
"Revolution begins with yourself. Cracked from the outside, an egg becomes food; cracked from within, it releases new life."
Trump's attacks on Venezuela and Iran have nothing to do with freeing anyone.
Liberation is never imposed from above. It can only arise from within.

Iran: look, it's simple. We literally just paint the silhouette of a plane on the ground. We literally just nail together some boxes in the shape of a tank. We literally just pull looney tunes shit. Their AI will make them spend $100 million to destroy $5 of arts and crafts.

Andrew Breitbart was essentially a prophet of a new political paradigm wrt politics = downstream from culture.
This form of RW inspo montage edits of movies, video games, and pop culture have been percolating independently online for about 5-ish years, so it’s no surprise they’ve been adopted now.

Everyone's laughing at the British expats complaining about how they moved to Dubai because they were told it was a delightful little capitalist utopia in a geopolitical prophylactic, and sure, hilarious. But one question: Where on earth did they get that idea from? Who told them that?

It diagnoses the problem pretty well in my opinion but falls very flat very quickly when it starts gesticulating about a "vanguard" and how it might "lead" the "masses"

Agree, its actual horizon for the role of violence in the climate movement is shallower than I hoped. I think this is because Malm believes that nation states are the main actors responsible for the transition, which limits his imagination to the boundaries of state politics/capture/influence

Fascists are stupid whether they call themselves multipolar or antiimperialist, and the great power contradictions between US and China were always much more shallow than their infrastructural, economic and material codependence, hence China doing nothing for Iran and why the US can go full Samson

If it’s not a regime change operation; if there is no intention to advance to a ground invasion; if the strategy is to provoke inter-ethnic uprisings and conflicts; if the plan is to smart bomb until there is none left, then switch to dumb bombs, then the practical objective is tacit: Genocide.
