Twitch is requiring new Affiliates, before their first payment, to give government photo ID and a separate photo to Persona, the same Persona that has connections to government mass surveillance programs. When I asked Twitch support for another option, they said there isn't one. #twitch #persona 1/4

Kinda Fucked Up that in our lifetimes we've gone from "never share personal info on the internet" to "hand over your identity to the most incompetent corporations imaginable".

Except I didn't access anything 18+, it was just a drawing my friend did of his oc (fully clothed) curled up sleeping and apparently it was "mature content" and I had to verify my age =/ (UK here)

Yeah, they made me use government ID or a face scan =/ It's honestly all ridiculous.

Oh yeah, you can use them to buy things! But if you wanna verify your age cause of the new online safety act the UK gov released... credit card only or they assume you're a minor by default =/ Which is crazy as some people have had steam accounts for longer than the legal adult age like?? 😅

You're more likely to find the people who have them are not working class. Middle class and above mostly!

Yeah like, people have them I know that much but literally only ONE person out of every single person I know in the UK has one and considering I travelled for college and have a huge family I can safely say it's much rarer haha. We mostly use debit cards and the money we know we actually have.
