HB 4 is a desperate power grab by a scared man and his scared party.

Representative Nicole Collier has been held on the floor against her will for over 48 hours for dissenting.
A 7-term legislator, attorney, and community advocate has been surveilled and detained in her own Capitol.
That is not democracy. That is authoritarianism in real time.
HB 4 carves up Austin, forcing progressive champions to run against each other and silencing diverse communities.
It stretches districts over 500 miles — diluting Black, Latino, and AAPI voices that power our state’s future.
That’s not compact. That’s corrupt.

And the American people are responding with disgrace for Greg Abbott and Texas Republicans.
Texas Democrats are fighting for the American people.

Redistricting is only supposed to happen once every ten years.
It’s meant to reflect population changes fairly — so every Congressional district is equal in size, and every community’s voice is equally heard.
Trump’s extremist agenda has already devastated Texans — slashing healthcare, restricting food stamps, and underfunding our public schools.
Now he’s asked Abbott to find 5 seats to keep Republicans in power.
And Abbott is coordinating with Trump to rig the maps for political gain.
