Point #5 in the Order seems like a sign of the times (and the total loss of presumption of regularity): "It is FURTHER ORDERED that Respondents are enjoined from relocating Petitioner outside the jurisdiction of this Court prior to compliance with this Order."

The person involved who has the least amount of Qualified Immunity is probably the Senator.

:).

From a spectator perspective, the mixed relays are a better race.

Sprint is frantic; the impact of the tiniest transition-error is magnified. The difference in the women's final was a tiny mis-clip of a binding.

The relays emphasize fitness, and Team USA has a greater chance at the podium :).

It is among the greatest joys I've ever known.

Ski touring doesn't have to be fast. Imagine going on a hike to a beautiful place, then you get to ski back to the car :). Doing so in summertime is particularly wonderful.

It is a condensed-for-TV version of the "real thing". Sprint has been a thing for many years, but the mixed relay was invented for the Olympics.

For the heart of the sport, check out races like the Pierra Menta, a multi-day stage race through the Alps.

You can repeal the laws of nature all day if you want. It just doesn't do anything. Nature doesn't care.

It is Judge Leon. He likes exclamation points.

What do members of the ethics committee of the Louisiana Bar think about his statement? There are enough people on the list that some of them might be willing to go on-record with you?

It is an important capacity to have these days, but a tragedy that it has become necessary.

Being a morning person isn't at all in my nature, but man, the benefits are incredible. All the morning-people you get to work with are real good at getting things done. (As a quick example, at my local grocery store, all the senior staff work the shift that starts at 7am. Speedy pro service.)

This QR proposal looks viable to me.

A single image of a QR-code can be instantly verified not only by people in the field, but by everyone who sees the image later (content-authenticity notwithstanding). If implemented correctly, the information is in the code itself; no need for web access.

This statement is incorrect: "Notably, Avelo is the only airline that also sells commercial tickets to the public while operating ICE Air charter flights."

Key Lime Air, d/b/a Denver Air Connection, flies daily for ICE. N971DC, in DAC livery, flew an ICE flight out of Boeing Field on Jan 8.

It is an important question. Matter-wave interference in atom-interferometers means that \hbar\omega for a _whole atom_, which weighs many GeV, might be accessible as a clock. Trouble is, it probably isn't a clock.

I've been in conversations where the world's most-decorated physicists were unsure.

In the metrology community, there is a perpetual and heated modern debate whether "a rock is a clock". My take on things is that there's a pretty good chance that rocks are not clocks, but I'm open to demonstrations of rock-based clocks that outperform any other oscillator in the apparatus.
