I hate to say this because I loved Derry Girls but I think they had to overact in this because the story and scripts were just not quite right...
Recent reads via eyes and ears. I am a bit of a skimmer with the eyes so one thing I β€οΈ about audio is it makes me slow down π§

And my bookmark is the word sheet from the Alice Faye gig on Weds in Glasgow which was absolutely brilliant
You might like this book I just read...
My daughter got me to watch this today and we cringed for the actors throughout. It is very bad, so awkward. Strong AI vibes.
Hey @cerysmatthews.bsky.social , you mentioned curlews again on Sunday. This is a lovely curlew-mentioning song ('Leavin' Loch Leven') from Scottish musician Beth Malcolm's 2023 album 'Kissed and Cried' (bethmalcolm.bandcamp.com/album/kissed...).

And the Brian Jackson track was the perfect choice today πΆπ§€

When audiobooks are good they are grrrreat (but I agree with others, if the narrator isn't working for me I give up on the listen, the voice has to aid not obstruct). I started with audiobooks in lockdown and now prefer them on the whole. I use @libro.fm (and @libbyapp.com free with library account)

An album that didn't get the attention it deserved? This beauty - "The Boy Bands Have Won" from the pared down 2008 version of #chumbawamba

Waste of a good cast...
The friend in question is a musician (though earned their crust from other things for years). Now retired they have a lot more time for music (couldn't move for guitars at the party!).
Most recent one (written for a friend's 70th). Great response at his party. Tumbleweed online π

Tis the age of insignificance π
Wherever there is oil he'll find conflict.
I presume you have seen/heard Karine Polwart's 'I burn but I am not consumed'...
The audiobook is brilliant (read by author)
Scotland's Missing Forests 120k views in a week. Wonder if Scotgov gets the message. Barren-looking land, even overgrazed & burnt grouse moors, can support natural woodland & biodiversity. This is the story of two pals who went where politicians fear to tread www.youtube.com/watch?v=MuTV...
Portrait of Mani. I've made two sizes of prints from this, all profit goes to @stockportnhsft.bsky.social thatβs a wonderful charity Mani and Imelda raised money for.
So Roddy Hart moves from Tues to Sat and Sun evenings on Radio Scotland πΆ

Placards saying refugees are welcome in Scotland.
Very few folk turned out to protest about immigration in Dundee today but there were lots of us there to counter them just in case. We were a strong friendly crowd, singing and chanting all afternoon, reclaiming the saltire and welcoming refugees π΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ ΏπΆ
