Weird the vet was confused - there are definitely known causes and treatments. There are veterinary dermatologists - might be good to check with one.

I had a cat who did that. Our vet had us try an allergy diet (which I can't remember now), meds for mites in case that was the prob. We think it was stress. His best cat bud had passed recently. We used pheromones and made an effort to play with him more. Eventually he stopped.

Soft. Childhood friend’s dad was a rehabber. Back in the days when no one thought twice about petting a squirrel or an owl.

A squirrel sat on the ledge of our rented cabin window, so close his fur poked through the screen. Our cat sat on the inside, gently brushing the fur with his paw. Squirrel was unbothered.

Today Xcel Energy turned off our power because someone reported that our house was vacant. Xcel verified this information by asking this person, whose name is not on our account, to repeat the address. Minnesota, keep your phone charged just in case.

While driving home on an extremely hot day, I heard a BANG. I didn't hit anything. Nothing was around. Pulled over and there was no damage to my car. Next day thought, "Why does my car smell like raspberries?" Very happy to have a plastic liner in my trunk.

Imagine if people went viral for advances in treating animal diseases instead of treating animals like bespoke novelties. We need one-shot, non-surgical contraceptives for stray cats, not glow-in-the-dark rabbits and fake dire wolves.
