Darragh O’Brien drafts in state agencies to find solutions to traffic congestion in the capital Transport Minister ‘not writing anything off’ in bid to ease problem in urban areas
Has he considered not shelving rail projects? Not cutting funding for expansion of public transport could be worth looking at too.

Friends, I'm working on allowing people to access PayGap.ie in Irish. I'm close to finished on the code work needed to support translatable strings everywhere, and will do my best at a first pass of the translations too, but if there's any Irish speakers willing to give it a look, let me know!
FYI - if you are an OpenAI user and want to migrate to another provider, the following prompt (from Anthropic) will get ChatGPT to export it's memory about you, and you can give it to another agent.

First Incident with a driver of the year. Thankfully I stayed upright and their car acted as a cushion so I’m grand beyond a scraped up knee.
But yep segregated cycle lanes now please.
CnM spent so long arguing that they should be Europe’s internet police so that they could control what we see, especially surprising since when handed the most obvious slam dunk instance of something on the internet needing policing they decide that actually it isn’t their job due to technicalities.
Today it was snowballs. Tomorrow, someone could paint a black circle on the side of a mountain, causing our officers to drive the train into the mountain, turning the train into an accordian that plays a sad little tune indicating that the officer has been seriously injured
Wow
Personally I don't think we need to take all his titles from him
A set of electrical boxes in front of one of the nicest streetscapes in Dublin, the front of Trinity College.
Luashenge.
i've decided not to listen to the audio of a teacher reporting a kindergartender because frankly I don't want to become the person that that event would turn me into. but one thing I hope we are collectively coming to grips with is what it meant that we have lived among such people this whole time
A villain from the now-infamous Stoneybatter Facebook group, who helped get the group shut down by flying into a rage both online and in real life, has shown up in my neighbourhood WhatsApp, crawling out of a hole when I reshared a link for a protest against a petrol station breaking planning law.
hello and welcome to the political genius exam. here is question one. which is a more compelling message:
- the president is sending armies to occupy cities and kidnap and kill people and your town could be next
- a meal at the cheesecake factory that previously cost $100 now costs $104.9
What's so amazing about Jim Henson as a puppeteer is that he could literally be explaining that Kermit is made out of felt and ping pong balls and yet Kermit still feels alive the whole time he's doing it

The real reason I'm leaving The Great British Baking Show Trump is threatening bombing the likes of which Tehran has never seen Prue Leith
the Spectator accidentally recycled a subhed from a previous day’s article about Tehran
I used to get very frustrated before Marriage Ref having to constantly answer the same basic things re same sex marriage/queer people and getting the same feeling today about cycling. People really don't want to accept that cars kill people and everyone has the right to move around in public safely
Are they still confused about legal bicycles with pedal assist/ebikes I wonder
irish government to require all pedestrians and cyclists to dress like this so that drivers will maybe look at them
What’s the best way to oppose this at this point? Calling Minister Canney’s office?
What a wildly stupid idea.
Mandatory helmets and high viz is a proven remedy to reduce the number of people cycling. It effectively kills off things like Dublin Bikes.
That's why no other EU country does anything like this. Pure madness.
Big if true
Picture of central Pontevedra, Spain from the air
“It's not my duty as Mayor to make sure you have a parking spot. For me it's the same as if you bought a cow, or a refrigerator, and then asked me where you're going to put them.” — Mayor of Pontevedra, Spain (re-elected 6 times)
The fact that this is what the government is moving so fast on is deeply depressing to me. A reactionary populist response to a problem that already has legislation around it.
Our government just refuse to do the hard, right, thing.

Quick, let Tim Cook know. He might be able to fly over in time.
Honoured to deputise for The Lord Mayor of Dublin at this huge step for road safety as we got our first red light camera at a level crossing. This is a partnership between Irish Rail, An Garda Síochána and Dublin City Council.
With our tourists boards doing literally nothing to promote the huge news that the Michelin Awards are happening here in 12 days (❗️), @hostandcompany have taken matters into their own hands and put together a series of events over the weekend, like a pre-awards festival. Michelin-starred toasties...
But it won't be. The draft strategy has been with Seán Canney for 9 months. Even if it's approved soon, there's nothing to suggest that it won't be implemented at the same glacial pace. Meanwhile, they've cancelled the pilot which was supposed to deliver cameras last year.
I’ve just seen an ad from the HSE about calling 999 if you suspect somebody is having a stroke, and it is absolutely horror movie material from start to finish.
I was convinced that somebody was going to start vomiting pea soup from about 2 seconds in.
