Now, I can't do felting, or any fibre arts.

Like my breakdown during my PhD killed reading.

I'm scared the same will happen with drawing and painting

Fibre arts.

There's something about fibre arts that makes me super emotional lol.

I think it's because, during my mid 30s I got v poorly and had to leave a job I had, again, partially built my personality around. While poorly, I really got into felting. Like really into it

What's your interpretation of pacifism? I'm a Quaker, a pacifist, but I do struggle with it as a concept. I've arrived at - I can't destroy life so don't expect anyone else to do it for me, but I don't judge those who are oppressed

My confession I am a sinner doesn't make too much sense to me in terms of my sexual life or my disobedience towards my mother. It makes more sense to look on a world hunger map.

So Philip Glass just joined TikTok. He only has like 4 posts and they’re simply him in what I assume is his living room playing the piano. First comment on one I saw was β€œyour piano is too close to the fireplace, you’ll dry it out” and if that’s not the internet in a nutshell I don’t know what is.

I hope to hold Quakers who facilitate lettings and manage buildings in prayer; Quakers do as well as say, and this work is an important part of that principle

Westminster Meeting House raided by Metropolitan Police again. Statement: β€œFor Quakers, faith and action are inseparable. Peaceful protest, prayer and nonviolent action are integral parts of many Quakers' religious life.

Whilst we take the planning of criminal acts very seriously, we believe that this incident is a deliberate targeting of committed young people who want to make our country a more equitable place. This raid is part of a systematic stifling of dissent.

That this is the second time in a year that the police have raided our meeting house dramatically illuminates the broader trend in the UK of cracking down on those who disagree with the government. The right to protest is fundamental to our democracy. It's a key part of how people make their voices heard between elections.” – Oliver Robertson, Head of Witness and Worship

I grew up somewhere with them (Lincolnshire), and the pressure pre 11 plus felt suffocating. The prospect of deciding your future then? Weird and terrifying

What a wonderful thing

If you're doomscrolling, guess what? So far there are 51 kākāpō chicks hatched and thriving this season, the same number of birds as we had in TOTAL in the 90s! Only one chick has died and there are still fertile eggs waiting to hatch!

I was an archaeologist of sorts for like 7 years; I used to test materials by tapping them on my teeth (not recommended) hence the human leg bone Incident 😬
