I'm unsure how people really think people were downplaying a virus that can kill you, make you go blind, wipe out your immune system for years, and oh yeah come back and kill you a decade after you thought you'd shaken it.

We know that ICE never left Minnesota, but there are signs that any drawdown phase is over.

ICE activity is ramping up across the country and Minnesota isn’t exempt from that. ICE has set a new baseline of β€œnormal” ICE activity in our state and that baseline is rising again.

As Bike Cars Overflow, Caltrain Bans Large Bikes and Panniers - Streetsblog San Francisco New rules heavily restrict the types of bikes Caltrain users can bring on board. Years ago advocates warned Caltrain that they weren't allotting enough bike space on the new trains

This need to be called out at perpetuating sexist policies that privilege bikers without child carrying, errand running responsibilities. Caltrain would never consider banning kids from trains, why is it ok to make it impossible for parents who travel bike to use the system?

Good morning! I’m proud to say that all six of my bills that were alive at cutoff have PASSED the Senate and are on their way to the Governor. I think that’s a personal best for my prime sponsor legislation and a huge testament to the work of the amazing advocates on these teams. #waleg

Most of my β€œbig big” bills were too big for a short session, but what did pass is still good and meaningful. 1687 to help Seattle work better with the social housing PDA, 2091 to make it easier for the state union to communicate with the folks they represent. #waleg

writing long pieces that require readers to go under for a long time before coming up for air is an act of defiance against the efficiency economy and grindset maxxing. it’s a fuck you to AI summaries and headline reactions. it’s rebellion. we are fighting for a world where long reads are the norm.

Yes! HB 2266 passed the Senate earlier this evening - great news for the siting of critical housing and shelter in communities across our state. Read more on our blog: www.wliha.org/blog/house-b...

Big news fresh from Olympia!
The Senate just PASSED HB 2266, supporting more STEP housing statewide. πŸŽ‰

This is a huge win for getting more access to critical housing types like emergency shelters, transitional housing, and permanent supportive housing!

While we agree with Rep. Gerry Pollet, in office since 2011, on some things, including increasing government accountability and transparency, we're not down with Rep. Pollet's efforts to stymie statewide housing reform efforts.
Fewer legislators did more to prevent Washington from joining California and Oregon in eliminating single-family-only zoning than Pollet. Rep. Pollet's efforts in helping to cancel protected bike lanes on 35th Avenue NE in Wedgwood are also inexcusable. Also aggravating is Rep.
Pollet's stance against high-speed rail in Washington. Add that up and you've got a candidate we could never endorse.

Lest others forget, here are your reminders. Couldn’t agree more with this: β€œFewer legislators did more to prevent Washington from joining California and Oregon in eliminating single-family-only zoning than Pollet.” Washington’s #1 NIMBY. 10 min after this post, Pollet sends out this desperate email. Good thing I don’t care who endorses him bc he’s ruined thousands upon thousands of lives with his NIMBYing. But all of these ppl should at least be dual endorsing lol :)
