i do wonder, in a world where there wasnt the coercion to pass, what presentation (or sexuality for that matter) would look like. because as it stands its like "yeah do whatever you want haha" but with a gun to the back of your head

not saying someone shouldnt try to pass, thats fine, like youre saying someones behavior regardless of whether they pass is whats primary. but i doubt most peoples desired presentation very cleanly matches up with whatever would make them pass best, even if its obviously influenced by that pressure

but like as for transition, passing also does not equal looking pretty or cute or whatever. passing is just a particular normative mode of presentation to avoid misogynistic violence or chauvinism in social life. plenty of lesbians arent interested in women who pass well anyway

also, i dont think that not looking like a man = passing. lots of women who dont pass (and this includes cis women) also dont look like men, and thats one thing that reactionaries target.

we either struggle and keep our principals and dignity, and hopefully we do it well and that pushes things forward and is helpful, or we just let the momentum of reaction to transness continue unabated while we stay silent and watch. id rather strive for the first, even if that means harm for me

i think the scary thing is that if you dont want to abandon you have to stick to your principals and be public about being trans and discuss and fight for it openly, and that will probably put a target on you if your fighting is effective. but its not like being quiet guarantees safety either

it works!!! ive been doing this and, well, curves happen. squat or other exercises for butt and hip flexors and thighs and stuff (i find pigeon good mornings are really good butt exercise for rounding butt out tho takes some practice) + good amount of protein and calories, esp if in combo with hrt
