W/out Dept. of Education:
❌ A student facing racial harassment has nowhere to turn
❌ A child with disabilities loses classroom support
❌ Schools can't recruit needed teachers
❌ Working college students lose loan services
This is about real children in real classrooms losing critical protections.

“We’re talking about the idea of whether the president has to follow the law at all,” Brendan Nyhan, a political scientist at Dartmouth College, said. “That’s a sentence I never thought I’d have to say about the United States, but here we are.”

Truly, wtf. 🤬

I’ve heard some people say, “Why isn’t anyone working to stop Trump’s illegal actions?” Guess what — they are. Don’t let their work get buried under the barrage of bad news.

Excited to see one of the Big 3 credit reporting agencies being held accountable for the damage they cause us when they refuse to actually fix our credit reports, which can be massive barriers to so many important life moments.

Jimmy Carter, US president and human rights champion, has died Carter was a towering figure in Democratic politics, both during and after his time in the White House

Today we mourn a giant in public service, Democratic politics and American life. Jimmy Carter embodied the American dream: the son of a nurse, he grew up on a dirt road and relied on public housing before becoming a peanut farmer and being elected President of the United States.

As much as I’m excited about the new rule banning junk fees for tickets and hotels, the FTC didn’t ban ALL junk fees. Rental junk fees, for example, are not specifically banned — bummer for renters like me (and my clients) who have been hit with nonsense fees from landlords.

Opinion: The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has irked billionaires, but it serves the public well Elon Musk and Marc Andreessen have begun a campaign against the agency, but they're rowing against public opinion: Americans see its value.

Billionaires want to "delete" the @CFPB, but millions of want to keep it. The CFPB has already returned $21 billion to consumers by holding shady lenders and financial predators accountable. Who's really being protected here?

This is fantastic news — how many times have we all tried to buy tickets or book a hotel and then been slammed with unexpected fees? This rule will fix that. Round of applause to the FTC. 👏👏👏👏
