Stunning Teaser for Sci-Fi Animation 'Cosmo Princess' by Quentin Rgx Whoa! This is awesome. Get a look this stunning teaser for an animation project in the works called Cosmo Princess, created by an animation filmmaker in France named Quentin Rigaux (also known as Quentin Rgx on YouTube). This teaser debuted last year but we're only catching up with it now - thanks to a tip from Cartoon Brew recently. It's now being turned into a full-on 90 minute feature film by one of the producers of Flow, and he's shopping it around & presenting it at markets to build up interest & get financing to develop it. Cosmo Princess is handmade 2D animation project with a style that is reminiscent of grainy, old school epic sci-fi animation from the 70s & 80s. Here's the basic story intro: "Sometime, somewhere in the endless cosmos, a lost astronaut and cosmic princess collide. His hope: to return home. Hers: to escape her destiny of becoming a star. Fascinated by his tales of 'Earth,' she helps him find his way back, hoping to find refuge herself." It looks amazing and I'm glad someone is letting Quentin turn this into an actual movie. Olly Gibbs' Best Picture Nominees from 2025 Poster The 2026 Academy Awards are coming up just around the corner - the glamorous ceremony is being held late on March 15th this year hosted by Conan O'Brien. Leading up this big Hollywood event, all the poster designers have been creating their annual set of poster designs for the 10 Best Picture nominees. However, there is always one design that we anxiously wait for year after year - the Golden Statue illustrations created by UK artist Olly Gibbs. Every year, he creates a unique Oscar statue design for each of the 10 Best Picture nominated movies and adds lots of elements & tiny details from each one into the illustration. Gibbs started this in 2014, and has been creating new designs for the series of BP nominees each winter. It's similar to the incredible set of Golden Statues created by Olly Moss for the 85th Academy Awards but with its own distinct look & feel. Icarus Films has revealed the official trailer for a documentary film titled Everybody to Kenmure Street, one of the most engaging and deeply inspiring films of the year so far. This premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival a few months ago, and I listed it as one of 10 best films at the festival. It's also screening this week at the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival before it opens soon in the UK first. It will eventually hit theaters in the US and I hope people will watch it. Set in the city of Glasgow, Scotland, it follows the true story of hat happens during an immigration raid. In May 2021, a U.K. Home Office dawn raid triggers one of the most spontaneous and successful acts of civil resistance in recent memory. In Scotland's most diverse neighborhood, hundreds of residents rush down to the streets to stop the deportation of their neighbors. This is the true story of Everybody to Kenmure Street. Aside from being a rousing story of community action successfully working, it's just an excellent doc film that showcases the power of great filmmaking to tell important stories. New US Trailer for 'I Swear' - THE Must Watch Film About Tourette's "Don't forget - no swearing." Sony Pictures Classics has debuted a new US trailer for the Scottish film titled I Swear, which just won three major BAFTA Awards a few weeks ago. This film about a young man with Tourette's first premiered at TIFF last year and already opened in UK theaters last fall hitting #1 at the box office. From the acclaimed director Kirk Jones (of Waking Ned Devine, Nanny McPhee, Everybody's Fine, What to Expect When You're Expecting) and based on a true story. Diagnosed with Tourette's syndrome at age 15, John Davidson faced and overcame many hardships from adolescence and into early adulthood as a result of what was a little known and entirely misunderstood condition in 80s Britain. I Swear is a funny, heartfelt and moving account of John’s experiences. He went on to make the 1989 doc John's Not Mad at a time when his Tourette's condition was barely identifiable. Starring actor Robert Aramayo (who plays Elrond in The Rings of Power) as John, with Peter Mullan, Maxine Peake, Shirley Henderson, Paul Donnelly, and Scott Ellis Watson. A self-appointed "inventor of the future" tech CEO and his self-serving "performance psychologist" are engulfed in a scandal sparked by the exploitation of personal data.
