It is already an uphill struggle for refugees to rebuild their lives once granted safety here. These changes - brought in without parliamentary scrutiny - will make it even harder for refugees to find work, settle and integrate, leading to increased homelessness and further splintering communities.

The government's plan for "earned settlement" threatens people's ability to settle and build their lives here as part of our communities. Check out @praxisprojects.bsky.social's plans for a Mass Lobby on 11th March to speak up against these damaging and unworkable plans ⤵️

Number of homeless refugees in England soars, BBC has found Analysis of government data shows numbers increased from 3,560 in 2021/22 to 19,310 in 2024/25.

This is homelessness by design. It has to end - extending the move on period to allow more time for people to find accommodation is essential, as is fixing the flaws in the system that leave people without support as soon as they are recognised as deserving protection www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

The Government's 'A National Plan to End Homelessness' aims to halve long-term rough sleeping.
