I started on this originally so enemies could change targets to other things belonging to the player (spiders do this right now by brute force overriding their target coordinates and setting their speed to negative) but now I can actually change the team of enemies and have them fight each other
some completely unbalanced and nonsensical turrets. it's too much fun to drop a dozen on the spot and watch them hose everything in sight, i might just leave them like this

spent a week optimizing a ton of old and horrifically written code, now I'm already beginning to reverse the gains in FPS by doubling the amount of projectiles and particles on screen

rough concept for a goofy cannon fodder enemy. this little guy dodges ATGMs by ducking down his suspension moments before they hit, and the enemy falls for it every single time
