I especially enjoyed malt o meal‘s “blueberry muffin tops,” which were just the exact same cereal with artificial blueberry flavor and blue specs instead of cinnamon.
Sometime in the mid-aughts, they made “1/3rd less sugar” variants, and I specifically remember the Cinnamon Toast Crunch being really sad.
One of the best parts of CTC is feeling little sugar grains melt on your tongue, or dissolve into super sweet milk.
