I'm NOT quitting my day job to become a poet, don't worry. I am manifesting though, since we're headed up the mountain this weekend. Stubby, the Mule Deer buck, backlit and passing by me in a snowy clearing on his way down to the creek and the does, not pictured, in black and white.

Whose antlers were odd, but he showed no fear,
As the rut was on, and the does were near.
So I took his photo, while the coast was clear,

Today's destination in the Black Mountains, "Thumb Butte" or as the locals call it "Finger Rock"...because it looks like someone giving the finger from certain angles, duh...just up the hill from all the vibrant desert marigolds in bloom across the desert this morning...
