Same, I love all the trolls it throws at you, they never feel mean spirited, they're just silly gags that subvert your expectations.
Also found this, which is silly. Starting out you fall and have no control, but if you hold Right or Left as you start the game, I guess you are barely able to reach OoB area and it beats the game. True Any% tied WR. Funny they never held a direction when testing, Wonder if anyone has found this.
Made a map for this one, took a little while, 8x16 grid, 128 screens. I think the map is pretty well designed overall. It gives a nice shortcut close to the exit in each area, so you don't have to backtrack one more time after you get the chip. I really like these maps that neatly fit in a grid.

I personally didn't have any issue with baby Mario crying, like it's there to raise tension, and also a punishment for getting hit. My opinion is if it's bothersome you need to stop getting hit ๐คทโโ๏ธ.
Yoshi's Island, first time playing. Really enjoyed it. Obv music and art are top tier. Controls very smoothly. I love that they put secrets everywhere, satisfying to go out of your way and always get a little something. My only real criticism is it's way too easy. www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIIp...

Folding my laundry
Something neat we noticed after deathwarping in Stage 1. Normally you ride a skateboard up a halfpipe, but if you open the exit before you should be able to, it gets stuck and we see there's no physics interaction at all, just a baked in, timed animation. Fun accidentally peeking behind the curtain.
He walks around every stage with his hand in his pocket kinda looking at the camera, so all I could think about the whole time was that he just looked like the Kevin James meme.
And a run, better speedrun than casual for sure, but still doesn't feel great, that landing animation always feels bad. Exonym found some nice stuff, death warps in stage 1 and 5, and a cool flight glitch in stage 5. No combat at all, just do the goals in the stage. www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIf3...
Fido Dido on Genesis, an unreleased platformer based on the 7UP mascot. Pretty basic overall, but they put way too many different mechanics in. Animation looks good but at the cost of control, annoying to get locked every time you land from a jump. โ๏ธ www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PIw...
I've routed 100s of games and this is an all time fav route already. It just feels so creative and clever taking a safeguard likely implemented stop you from death looping on a wall, and abusing it to completely break the intended path. Quite proud of this one.

This is also why I've been enjoying doing game requests, I don't think I would have run this on my own. So far I've gotten 12 runs out of 30 requests, and not everyone is trying to pick something I would run.

I majorly broke the progression. I noticed dying centers the screen vertically where you die, so dying at the bottom lets you move backwards against the scroll. By taking 13 intentional deaths in the run, I skip looping stages many times, and collect late game keys early, avoiding stage revisits.
