Actually looks like their spools now I look, theyβve always made filament for other people IIRC

So Colorfabb then?
Thought Iβd give some Tri-Colour PLA off Amazon a try as my daughter wanted a little waste paper bin for her room, couple of twists putting lines in but nice effect

literally the only thing missing for me so far in Plasticity seems to be thread generation, so I might still have to keep Fusion in my workflow for that alone. Although I am tempted to just make myself a library of standard threads exported to stp that I can use to further reduce my reliance on it
360 is ok but I just canβt get on with it, I donβt need the parametric design features and as Iβm only a hoodies I just activate the free plan. But Plasticity seems to be worth investing in, much more what Iβm looking for
I have still used 123D up until now as it does 95% of what I need and I can work much quicker in it. But the increasing instability and the lack of performance on more complex models has pushed me over the edge
My insistence on sticking with an old unsupported CAD package with flaky step export for yrs means I had to go from 123D to Fusion, then export as step, so I can play in Plasticity with my old models. Bit of a long term project here inspired by our visit to SMRRF
Not gonna lie, I fell in and out of sleep during the @joeltelling.bsky.social charity live stream (lateness of the hour, deffo not a reflection on Joel!), had some weird stream audio induced dreams though π€£
Day of the Jackal was superb, no further words!
Those light and plug switches also give me heavy 70βs vibes
ahh, Elementary! The Aussie sleuth π
Labour is still considerably cheaper over there, even if theyβre getting a good wage tbf
Spool photos required for all the budding Sherlocks
Maybe itβs time for Jo to buy a factory in China, come up with an entry level design and source βgood enoughβ partsβ¦

heading down the road early Saturday morning, the added advantage being that I get to visit my family in my old home town π
Grrr, I loved my Evoque β¦.. right up until the point the steering rack collapsed a couple months out of warranty π‘
Insides are usually miles of real world thankfully π
JLR have a decent track record of concept to real world ever since the Evoque
The move away from all printed parts shouldβve helped but their way of manufacturing is never gonna scale fast and the price point just adds to that, shame really.
I think they more and more do get concepts to be very close to release look and feel, especially in the price segment theyβre aiming this at. IMHO the side profile is great looking, I donβt like the front (most likely to be changed for production anyway) and the back is ok
I did think it was the dawn of a new era when it first landed but the price has crept up and itβs ended up looking like a half hearted attempt at entry level and overtaken by cheaper machines that perform great
"Sounds like something a big roll of copper would say." A big roll of wire with spray painted on the side "Not Copper - Fiber Optic."
Looking forward to it
This weekend, Iβm hosting the first ever 3D Printing Quiz Show! Teams of 4 enter, $20 per person. Each person gets a spool of @polymaker.bsky.social filament! Each winning team member gets a @josefprusa.bsky.social MK4S 3d printer! Proceeds benefit the Sanjay Mortimer Foundation.
See you soon!
First print since June 23, full praise to the @elegoo.bsky.social Neptune 3 plus , smashed it. Just fired it back up as if itβd been running regularly π₯

If youβre buying a wooden train set for your kid(s) this Xmas then IMHO this is a great addition π

slow down when ya dead mate, keep doing you π
got some weird security error but might have another look later as we always struggle to get the mother in law joining in when we hit the beach on joint holidays, some interesting looking off road style ideas on there
