Some movement west was inevitable but the navy yard growth instead of CC is a huge bummer

NYC isn’t even a football city, let alone a college football city.

Does Brightline actually own the FEC or do they just have an operating agreement?

The vast majority of people killed by Brightline are pedestrians, crossing design and drivers don’t have that much to do with it.

It’s definitely more gentrified than it was 10 years ago. Parker won with about 30% of the vote. That being said Philadelphia has many more structural problems than NYC and is perhaps less receptive to visionary mayors for good reason.

This is being made of fun of but Cuban is correct. A triple mandate would require the federal reserve to instruct the Mint to strike 38 separate trillion dollar coins and using the seigniorage pay off the national debt in one fell swoop.

Being generous and assuming instant acceleration and 35 miles of dead straight track it saves you 7 minutes. In the real world it’s going to be less.

Great game. No idea why would anyone try to derive Serious Politics from it.

The payments are based off actual time on track? I figured it would just be car miles scheduled.

Hit the ATO Go button I believe. And watch for track obstructions.

But there's no magical job title that's going to house these employees.

They're not qualified for any maintenance roles.
Cleaner is a *demotion*.
They're afraid of assaults so station agent is unpopular.
Tower operator is being nuked by CBTC and ATS.

There's nowhere to reallocate these employees.

I don’t know for sure but I would imagine so. The conductor —> station attendant thing gets brought up a lot but I really think people are underestimating how much they would hate that.

TWU reps almost all of the front line NYCTA employees. Conductors, operators, maintenance, most bus drivers.

1st was Penn I think. The 1st volume is best overall and actually reads pretty well, while the 2nd and 3rd are best used as reference material.

Right, but those permits filed in 2022 would have been filed in other years without the cliff edge. By pulling them forward it depresses future permit filings.

05.12.2025 15:51 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

Seems promising in a much worse interest rate environment and we’re probably still seeing a little bit of impact from pulled forward permits from the 421-a spike? Probably almost done at this point though.

17000 units is still low relative to prepandemic right?

There’s some weirdness here though. Apparently Pelham voted in favor consolidation. I’m also not familiar with the town of westchester as opposed to county

According to the contemporaneous reporting the towns of Eastchester Westchester and Mount Vernon voted against it
