Child: (sees ad for new Muppet Show)
Child: Mom! Can we watch this tomorrow night?
Me: Are you asking permission to watch THE MUPPETS??
No permission needed.
If they ban whistles switch to cowbells. It'll be fun for all the Gen Xers.
Because we need more cowbell.

#scriptsky If youβre ever stuck on character names, check out naming consultants on Instagram. I would 1000% use all of these names.
LOVE ALWAYS WINS.
A rewrite on one script, and a completed first draft on another. 2025 was not my best year when it came to finding time to write.
If you see this, post an archer.*

Let me just say it again: he canβt cancel the midterms. Elections are administered by states.
He canβt do it. Stop telling people he can do it.
Telling people their votes donβt matter based on absolutely false fantasizing by the demented sociopath is doing the work of voter suppression for him.
I would send a thank you email anyway. Thereβs a chance they just had someplace else to be and thereβs no harm in being polite - and it could leave the door open to more in the future.
So I didnβt have βwar with Europe over Greenlandβ on any bingo card because it is absolutely bonkers insane.
Perhaps, in all this darkness/oppression, the world could somehow find itself experiencing not an autocratic ascent but "a new birth of freedom;" and "that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth" but rise while autocrats stumble and fall. Imagine.
It is ABSOLUTELY BONKERS INSANE that we all believe Congress would rather let the President attack a NATO ally than kick him out of office before that can happen.
Honestly at this point I cannot say which is more likely: him getting impeached and actually removed from office, or the US going to war with Europe over Greenland.
Gonna need eyes on SIDESHOW soon. Just putting feelers out there.
Current LL:
A miraculous headless chicken turns a dirt-poor farmer into a sideshow sensation, but when fame and fortune slip away, he must decide how far heβll go to stay in the spotlight, and what heβs willing to lose.

Grandma was watching the news about the ICE shooting that happened today.
Grandma: βWhat does ICE stand for?β
Me: βImmigration and Customs Enforcement. Theyββ
Grandma: βOh, so theyβre Nazis.β
If Holocaust survivors can tell, so should everyone else.

me every single day
I tiptoed into 2026 and then it hit me like a Mack truck.
Me, upon waking my husband: Good morning! We are at war with Venezuela. Well, maybe βwarβ isnβt the right word for it. We just bombed the capital and kidnapped the president.
It sounds insane because it IS insane.
A black and white photo of Edmond Town Hall in Newtown, CT with text reading: βA Gift that Keeps Giving: Edmond Town Hall was a gift from Newtown benefactor Mary Elizabeth Hawley, who named the building after her great grandfather, Judge William Edmond. It served as Newtown's municipal center until 2009, but has always provided a unique space for entertainment, events, sports, governmental, and civic activities. As such, it has been the center of the Newtown's creative community for almost 100 years.β
Before we moved most of our town offices (to the site of an abandoned mental institution), our town hall was also home to a second-run movie theater. (Itβs still a movie theater, itβs just not functioning as town hall anymore.)
