I remember watching Roots in elementary school (which probably shows my age). There’s a scene where one of the enslaved men is praying in Salah 🙇🏾‍♂️ and another enslaved man stops him and warns him not to let the master see him praying that way.

I wanted to be a father. I wanted to plant a better seed than the one I came from and enjoy watching it grow.

I respect people who choose not to have kids. Because the real tragedy isn’t childlessness.
