Their batting wasn’t impressive as a group last summer but they bowled well and still won 4/5 tests before going on to sweep NZ away. The Ashes was a difficult series, very easily could’ve won both the Third and Fifth tests, and could’ve easily lost the first - retaining was a good outcome.
The majority of the Australian public’s relationship with our cricket team makes no sense to me. Current World Test Champions, ODI World Cup holders, get very little praise when they win major trophies and character assassinations when they lose a single game. Almost all seem like good blokes too.
