Ooof. I'm apparently not emotionally equipped for this one. Couldn't even get through the intro in my current state.

I've long disliked using the word "distraction' for any of it, because calling something a distraction implies it's less important. This is just overwhelming the opposition with a bewildering array of crises, all of which are life-or-death situations for those affected.
I keep hearing that we're currently seeing some kind of "extinction burst" from MAGA/the GOP/whatever, and all I can think is that I've been hearing that the latest right-wing meltdown "the last gasp" or whatever for at least twenty years.
The Declaration of Independence says that we not only have the right but we also have the duty to alter or abolish any government that does not secure our unalienable rights, including life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Figures that the one time V actually prepares a sonic damage spell, this happens.
"American innovation" now refers to making a kind of atrocity cronut by combining insider trading with war crimes.
What is the name of this bill?
The people who wrote this bill are evil.
It *was* normal water when he got in....
Yes, because Trump has been nothing but the very picture of normalcy.... π
So apparently throwing trans people under the bus isn't enough. Trying to make sure the rest of us are under there, too.
And thou mayest aske thyself, 'How do Ich werke thys?'
And thou mayest aske thyself, 'Wher ys that large destrier?'
And thou mayest telle thyself, 'Thys nys not my beautiful castle!'

Indeed. Whether or not the people who, in their own words, explicitly fought to preserve slavery were villains or heroes is somehow controversial 160 years later. Why should today's atrocities be any less subject to stupid revisionism?
I'm reminded of someone I know (who immigrated here for some reason) calling America "a pyramid scheme of a country."

One of my favorite songs.
ICE using the same ruse that Ted Bundy used to kidnap people should tell you something.
It looks really good!
At the risk of sounding kinda dumb, do you have to be a UK citizen to donate to this specific campaign?
Y'know, given how many of these people describe themselves as hardcore Trek fans, you'd think they'd remember this response from the producers back when TNG launched about Picard being bald:
"You don't think we'll have a cure for baldness by the 24th century?"
"By the 24th century, we won't care."
Also, they say it as if everything's so peaceful and stable right now. If we have to go through these tribulations, I'd like to at least have *something* to show for it on the other side.
At this point it's starting to feel like a list of who at least among the very wealthy and famous is *not* in the Epstein files might be shorter.
Well now I feel bad for bringing it up.

Age verification? I remember the stump joke from the original release of The Secret of Monkey Island.
