Burning tankers and broken windows in skyscrapers are filling my TV screen. But not the bombing, displacement and slaughter of children in Lebanon.
We've deeply embedded R4P (with help from @teresacremin.bsky.social and team). Slowing down to savour books; giving children agency over reading; not rushing through phonics and going at the child's pace. It's had a great impact. We have no Ofsted. No Phonics Check. 70% EAL. Our kids love books.
I've been thinking exactly the same thing - will be interested to read the answers to your thread!
There are some mind numbingly stupid statements out there.
I'm not sure what's not serious about him. Every interview I see shows he can respond calmly and from an informed position to everything they throw at him. He doesn't shirk and swerve when dealing with the media.
Though weirdly the woman claimed it worked! Personally I don't really care if he did what a client asked him to do - I'm interested in a party that takes a compassionate view on migration, speaks up against genocide, stands in solidarity with trans people and actually cares about the planet.
Couldn't give a monkeys. Surely there are more important things going on right now?
Absolutely shameful.
Might want to keep an eye on Fartage.
I think a lot of people are the same. The landscape has dramatically shifted. Labour squandered the opportunity to rebuild on a foundation of compassionate and hopeful policies and statements and it's such a shame. But thank goodness there's at least an alternative emerging.
Many of them don't even have a garden.
I'm not sure how helpful 2024 data really is because things have changed so much even since then. Disappointment in Labour, new Green leader with savy marketing, the realisation from the Gorton/Denton election that a Green alternative is really possible...none of those things were evident in 2024.
I mean, even if we didn't and were foolhardy enough to want to rely on fossil fuels, I think it was Thatcher who closed the coal mines and sold our north sea assets.
The reviews searched over 12,000 references. They screened 547 full-text papers for inclusion. They included 17. That's a 96.9% exclusion rate at full text. 530 studies were relevant enough to survive initial screening, then rejected by the review criteria. 6/10 reviews found 0 included studies.
If they had implemented this when my daughter was at school, she would no longer be with us. As it was we felt we had to leave the country. In Belgium she is under compassionate and timely health care, treated with respect and kindness and has no fear. I could weep for all the trans people in the UK
I pop into our Y1 bilingual class today during CP time and explain in very poor French that I'm trying to learn. A 5 year old takes me by the hand to her 'magasin de jouets' and plays with me speaking very slowly in French, gesturing when I don't understand and she's the best teacher I've ever had!
Itβs a bit like how we didnβt βoverfindβ more stars when telescopes were invented. Why has going after neurodivergent people become a national sport? www.independent.co.uk/bulletin/new...
This might be a good time for governments to uncouple renewable energy prices from gas/oil.
Labour are unhappy at being blamed for being transphobic by keeping transphobic people in public positions and continuing this by adding some more?
Just trying to get our heads around it at the moment - but it's definitely making sure we don't just pop stuff in the general waste because we can't be bothered to recycle! Seen a few parents on local chats talking about switching to washable nappies too.
We don't have council tax in Belgium, but the commune are now introducing a 'charge by weight' waste disposal service. Basically, your recycling/paper waste is removed for free and general waste is weighed and billed. Pretty sure people are going to become much more careful with their recycling.
Reform goons on Facebook are sharing photos of her being bundled into a police car and claiming they show her being arrested for voter fraud π
I bet he bought a lot of oil stock though.
Yet here you are, wasting everyoneβs time.
How else are the staff supposed to know whether or not to spit in your soup if you won't tell them who you voted for?
Tomorrow Wes Streeting will remove trans minors ability to access, and doctors to prescribe, cross-sex hormones.
Try as it might Labour will never eradicate trans people. They cannot, and should not, change who they are. All Labour will do is make trans lives harder - with more harm and more death.
Actively anti-trans. I say this as the parent of a transgender teen. We currently live in Belgium where we had to take her so she could feel safe and access healthcare. Weβre lucky we could but no-one should have to do that.
Iβm not seeing much tolerance of anyoneβs rights in the UK at the moment. A bit rich to suggest that this is the fault of refugees rather than our own population who are punching down on brown, female, trans and disabled people.
