Dear journalists: Shut up about the “special relationship”. There is UK reliance on the US but for the time being there is no special relationship in any meaningful sense and talking as if there still is sounds ridiculous

The top one seems familiar, but the background feels wrong. The bottom one definitely is ai
Is this a reprint of a New Scientist article?
"One of the great deficiencies of our education is that few of us are taught systems theory."
YES! I've been criticising the obvious lack of systemic thinking for years! I think it is an over-valuing of engineers in management.
Ask me about how you can get audiobooks from a company that actually cares about readers and social good 🙃
there is no question that the bad guys are whoever did this
Author’s quote about wanting AI to do household chores instead of her writing and art.
"This is Trump’s war of choice. But Britain has choices, too. Two hundred and fifty years after the American colonists broke free of empire, it’s time for a British declaration of independence."
Substitute Australia for Britain, and this is just as relevant.
And even more urgent. #auspol
Everyone knows Alan Turing. But about 75% of the people working at Bletchley Park were women. The movie The Imitation Game includes Joan Clarke (not mentioning Mavis Batey, Margaret Rock,…) but still tells the story as if codebreaking were a man’s game.

Hitting desalination plants is so bad. Not just evil but strategically incomprehensible. Without desalination 75% of the entire population of the Middle East will be refugees. Israel and Kuwait depend on desalination for 90% of their water and other Middle East states aren’t far behind.

This comment is what I came looking for. "Welfare state." The US!?Pish! 🤣
Why am I so sure I know who you're referring to.
And in other news, it's Yoongi's birthday tomorrow. He wants you to be OK.
I see 18 men and one woman on the stage. If you want to fix our problems, start right there.
Be more Spanish, Mr Albanese

Yes!
Sounds plausible
I literally don't notice whether it is first, second or third person when I'm reading. I think it is so easy to transition that if someone can't do it comfortably, they need to work on reading skills.
It's only when I'm writing that I notice the person (it is hard to stay in just one of them)
"Generally though, [Albanese] has preferred to move only once a critical mass of like-minded countries is prepared to do the same."
This is what shames us. Middle powers should speak up clearly about what is right even if we don't have the power to force stronger powers to conform to rules.
I'm amazed *anyone* is moving to the US right now. The chances of being transitioned to one of the concentration camps are pretty high. Why would you pay the cost of moving there to then have more legal bills along with the pain and suffering of the camp?
He thinks his audience thinks like that.
It's so frustrating that I have to wait until March 31. It's been a while since I wanted to read a book so much as this.

"Politically correct", "woke", etc. have simply always been synonyms for "moral".
And for the lady, perhaps audiobooks that support indie bookstores instead of mega corporations doing questionable things.
I object! I didn’t choose my name. I hate having a double-barrelled first name (seriously: don't start me on the topic). But it has nothing to do with whether I have (or don't have) reasonable level of intelligence or leadership skills.
The world needs the USA to have an excellent leadership TEAM.
Media should be analysing whether the leadership team has a common goal, a unified vision, understands each other's roles, communicates well and regularly with each other, and trusts each other to do their particular role.
