Europe Needs to Learn Its Lesson: Stop Relying on Imported Energy
Growing reliance on American gas looks foolish given how unpredictable the White House has become.
I did not expect to see this in the WSJ:
"Reducing reliance on fossil fuels looks like Europe’s best shot at saving its domestic manufacturing and stopping other governments from pushing it around"
Agreed!

I love your optimism @hobbitlover.bsky.social but today's announcement includes financing for the Pathway's carbon capture project which will cost taxpayers in the neighborhood of $60-70 billion.
How sure are you Carney will keep his word when the industry can't come up with the $$$$?

Our voices made sure the Northern Gateway pipeline was rejected by the courts, when hundreds of thousands of Canadians appeared in front of the National Energy Board, marched in the streets, and organized to stop the last Prime Minister who thought this was a good idea.

I love that Mamdani is what the right claimed Obama was: A Muslim socialist born in Africa. The right practically manifested Mamdani into existence.

I think all the drama in the BC Conservative Party might have more to do with Eby's sudden interest in a snap election, than the fate of the North Coast Transmission Line. #bcpoli

Here is a #BCpoli fun fact. Emily Lowan's vote total in the BC Green's leadership race at 3,1890 is more than double to the total the number of people who participated in the BC Conservative Party leadership review 1,268. 🤔

Surrey-Cloverdale MLA Elenore Sturko booted from B.C. Conservative caucus
B.C. Conservative Leader John Rustad has booted Surrey-Cloverdale MLA Elenore Sturko from his caucus, accusing her of plotting against his leadership. Sturko has denied the allegation and says she was...
Well maybe its just about Rustad appeasing the right wing of the Conservative Party as Sturko suggests in this interview. Or maybe she was to close to being able to prove that he cheated in the leadership review.
Either way this story is far from over.

Maybe he was trying to discredit Sturko's attempts work with party staff to discover who was behind the thousands of fake members signed up to vote in the Conservative's leadership review. Which of course Rustad only narrowly survived.

Why would Rustad spread that kind of rumor? Besides of course to take the opportunity to reminding the right wing of his caucus that one of his leading critics with in caucus doesn't share their "values."

I suspect that he was using women in the plural sense and that redacted name in that email is Elenore Sturko's, the openly gay MLA from Surrey-Cloverdale who was kicked out of Conservative caucus by Rustad last night.

Okay here is my BC Conservatives conspiracy theory. Last week an email from Rustad to his caucus apologizing for "spreading rumors about Conservative women" was leaked. The rumor was that an person whose name was redacted was having a relationship with someone in the Conservative office. #bcpoli
