And the way you handle your books is equally crude and immature. (Speaking as a librarian, GOP depictions of book handling are up there with GOP depictions of hands as very wrong.)

Such crushing grief my soul now warps
As I gaze upon her corpse. Although a martyr to her bunions,
She was the best of good companions.

Thank heavens! Little Sebastian will at last be able to ride real ponies again instead of merely playing with toy ones.

Endpapers of a book decorated with coloured stripes and with the stamp of the bookbinder M. Zoetl of Freystadt
Some 19th-century rainbow endpapers to brighten up a grey day (from 'Die Natur ihre Wunder und Geheimnisse, oder die Bridgewater-Bücher', Stuttgart, 1836-38).

It's a long-running in-joke in Private Eye magazine to refer to the royals by very non-royal sounding names. Charles is 'Brian', the late queen was 'Brenda'.

Yes, that made me want to scream because Peggy was the Londoner introduced at the beginning of the series as the person who needed to have rural and agricultural life explained to her (in keeping with the educational aspect of the programme), while Doris was Ambridge born & bred as any fule kno.

What infuriates me is that he stands up in front of world leaders, and he lies and lies and lies, and none of them seem to publicly call him out (unless I’ve missed something). Also he confused Greenland & Iceland more than once, & if Biden had done that once, Republicans would’ve been all over it.
